For a "deep-fried sorta place" I highly recommend J Anthonys - Freakin' awesome!

Sandbar. There is no other seafood restaurant remotely close to their quality here.

I will also throw out La Frite for mussels. I've had their curry version twice and both servings were terrific. There was hardly a dead one to be found.

We live pretty close to here and I've seen it a few times. Is it expensive and is it fancy (ie-no kids?). Guess I can go check out that link you sent, too!

Dry Dock in the Medical Center is decent but DO NOT eat there on a Monday or Tuesday.

Why not Monday or Tuesday? The chef in a bad mood on these days?

Honestly, you should probably avoid most seafood places on Monday or Tuesday. Dry Dock is real bad about serving the weekend dinner special as the Monday lunch special, though.

A friend and I ate lunch there on Sunday for $26, I was shocked at how inexpensive it was. I think kids would be fine.

I usually eat my seafood on the coasts. I travel extensively, so eating seafood on a Monday, Tuesday..or "whateverday" is good for me.

I would never eat at ANY restaurant at ANY time that serves bad/expired/antique food. Why in the world would you give your money to a place that thinks it's okay to serve you garbage?

my favorite on the coast is Big Fisherman in Aransas Pass........all you can eat fish baby! On a local note, they say that new restaurant is pretty good where the Tom's Ribs use to be on 410. Gotta go and check that out sometime.
