I'm glad companies think of us when moving shop to our city; I just wish we had more meatier jobs available for those college grads that are interested in another area of employment.

Debt collection jobs...its a job but I can't imagine that it would be satisfying to work in that kind of environment.

If you've never done it, you would be surprised. I did third party collections straight out of high school, and while the work could be difficult and sometimes draining - the BONU$$$$$ checks helped me get over it.

im sure debt collecting is going to be pretty hard in this economy... not much bonuses if you not collecting money.

For some people, in this economy, having a job with a paycheck and benefits is a bonus.

San Antonio = call center capital. More low paying jobs, and more college grads moving to other cities.

It probably will depend on the tactics of the collection agency and how good their collectors are. Surpsingly lots of people will pay their delinquent bills if they are motivated to do so.

Overall, I think any job growth of really nearly any kind should be seen as a good thing regardless of the reasoning why the organization has chosen to come to SA. Of course a business is going to want to be where it will be most profitable for them - doing otherwise is foolish.
