Personally, I think this is just an overhype by the media.

Is it deadly? (yes)
Do you need to be cautious? (yes)
Do thousands of people die every year from other/more common strands of the flu? (yes)
Do you hear about those people in the news? (no)

to each his own, just my two cents.

I would like to hear what people's experiences have been, besides the pretty scary news reports we get. however, I wonder how honest the comments they get will be.

The head of the Bexar County Health Department said on the news last week that he wants H1N1 vaccine to be administered in the schools. It will be interesting to see how that proposal goes over once more people become aware of it.

No shot here either. And they are giving them at my work free for employee and family.

They might only be offering the regular flu shot though

I get a regular flu shot every year and if this one was offered I would probably take it. I get just about everything that goes around and I hate being sick!

are these the same as flu shots? hence they'd be injecting you with a low dose "dormant" strain so you're body can start developing the antibodies it needs to?

if so, you'd be putting in a strain that we really don't know much about, and we don't have any historical data as to how bodies will react to the shot.

i'll pass.

I have a million and one things to worry about right now and the pig flu is at the very bottom of that list. I rarely get any flu and I'm guessing I'll go through this season flu free again. I think it's been at least 4-5 years since I last had the flu.
