I recommend a shoe...or any such thing to swat them with inside the home. I leave them alone outdoors...they belong in nature out here. We've never been stung inside the house, only outside when we get real careless. Toxic stuff will affect your health eventually.

I have been using the Catchmaster glue traps which are non-toxic and a more comprehensive treatment inside your home. Once the critters make contact with the glue, they are stuck. In my first year of ridding my home of scorpions, I had snagged about 70 of them. In the second year, it dropped to 50. I had declines in year 3 & 4 as well and now I get about 10 to 15 a year. The traps are great at controlling the population and they also catch anything else moving including spiders, etc. I once had a tarantula. I usually have about 10 traps laid around my home from the spring through the fall. You can Google for really great prices when you buy the large 5 X 7 pads in quantities of 72 each or 144 each. I leave them flat instead of folding them in order to maximize the glue area. There are banana and peanut butter flavors for attracting and catching field mice, etc. If you have pets, you might need other considerations but I usually placed mine along the walls or behind the doors entering different rooms of the home.

If you think your house is clean, try some of these and watch what happens. You can change out the pads based on volume in your home. You will be amazed at the traffic. Now I can usually leave the traps out the whole summer without changing.

I got a quote with terminix for $125 initial and every quarter about $84...equals to $377 yearly

I got another quote with Bulwark pest control that specializes in scorpions. $99 down every other month $68 / 2 months. 1 yr contract.

Any opinions who to go with?

they give me the creeps.. So dumb question, but why are scorpions so abundant when new building goes up? Do they mostly live in the woods or a certain weather condition? Also if anyone has some pics of ones they caught , post them up , I wanna see how big they are.. I have no idea why

Are they usually just little ones like this? Even so they seem like nasty little bastards!

Scorpions live in abundance in the southwest U.S. They are sensitive to UV light and seek shelter in cracks in the limestone during the day down here in this area. When their habitat is disrupted by construction/digging, they move into areas where they are protected from the sunlight (like your house).
