Sapphire - I think they will still be as beautiful this coming weekend - and likely the weekend after that - the bluebonnets are really 'just' now coming in good........the heat is what will kill all our roadside flowers

Agreed, I am fascinated by longhorns, and am always on the lookout for them!

We have a longhorn skull over our fireplace. My wife has some of those faux candles underneath it, and they cast an eerie glow on it when the lights are out.

But I can't understand why the National Texas Longhorn Museum is located in Kansas City, Missouri!?!

Cheers! M2

Hey M2 - we saw signs for a Longhorn Museum on our travels yesterday - near Pleasanton - let me nose around and see what I can come up with on that!

Well - that didn't take long - here it is!!!

I appreciate the compliment. Hopefully I can get out and capture some more photos during the coming days and this weekend. I've been hinted to from family back home that I need to keep my photo site more "up-to-date". I guess they want to know what I'm up to.

Hi! I'm new to this forum. I came across it looking for a good place for my boyfriend and I to ride our motorcycle to look at wildflowers. Yesterday, we decided to take a southern route (from San Antonio), down 37 S - 181 - Floresville - FM 536. It was a beautiful ride! My pics aren't quite as good as some of the others posted, but I wanted to share them just the same!

Went to wildseed farms today and was pretty disappointed. the website had more flowers than really there. the giftshop and nursery to purchase flowers is great. but if you are looking to walk thru flowers like they suggest and get pics you will be sadly disappointed.

You were right......they are gorgeous! We went down 181 on into Floresville, then back towards SA we turned on 775 towards La Vernia........that 12 or 13 mile stretch of road was amazing! Wildflowers everywhere! I would definitely recommend that route to everyone. I didn't even want to stop and take pictures....I just enjoyed the scenery and the beautiful homes. Today was perfect for it, too.
