Binding ones own feet and hands and then sticking your head in a noose is not the typical way a woman would kill herself,in fact very rare....something is wrong here. Maybe someone tried to kill the son first and then succeeded in killing her. Two incidents that close together is not coincidental in my mind.

No offense to Coronado police, but how much murder investigation experience could they have? Probably the crime scene was contaminated within 5 minutes of their arrival, not to mention the bungling of questioning. The high priced attorneys are not going to have to work to hard on this one. Anyway very strange and sad.

On the news last night, they said that the son had died. So now, it'll get more interesting.

very sad. And odd. Every kid falls down the stairs at some point right? I don't remember ever hear of one dying. Not that it is not possible, just unusual.

My heart goes out to the family of this woman and also to the family of the little boy that passed away.

I agree with everyone else that the facts of this case are VERY strange. I'm definitely not going to try to speculate what happened but the facts of the case are REALLY strange.

Rebecca Nalepa, girlfriend of Medicis CEO Jonah Shacknai, found hanging dead in California mansion

In this article and others that I've read, it says that there was a party the night before she died. Who in the world has a party after a little boy has had a serious accident and in the hospital??? Seems really strange everything about this case.

I hope they get to the bottom of it...

Good lord I can not believe there would be a party. Let's hope that is gossip or I lose more faith in humanity

Why dance around the issue?

The CEO murdered his lover. He's got money. Coronado PD are idiots. While any other PD would rule this a crime scene in seconds, Coronado must have some big coffers filling their bank account (namely the CEO/owner of the Spreckles mansion/Suspect).

Occam's razor seems to explain this one.

Nice rush to judgment, though you're likely correct somehow.

Just stating facts here, but the Coronado Police realized they don't have homicide experience and prompty called in the Sheriff's office to handle the investigation.

"Coronado police requested assistance from sheriff's homicide investigators, since the small seaside city does not employ its own."

Yah, I had to read that over a few times because I couldn't believe they were serious.
