I am a professional nanny, living in phoenix for the past 6 yrs. I cannot take the hot hot hot anymore.
Fell in love with Encinitas area.
Anyone who can help with where would be the best area to work(live out) and to rent. I am hoping to find someone to share housing, expenses with.
I am 50, so I'm no kid. But I am active, fit and cannot wait to blow this dust bowl. Any advice or anyone wanting to consider a share let me know
Thanks

Encinitas....phenomenal area to live, but VERY expensive. Understand that when you move, you will probably be happier due to the weather and plethora of activities, but you're money will get depleted very quickly, as the cost of living is high.
Good luck to you

I lived in Tucson for 18 months........left for the same reason............just could not take the heat.

And yeah, Encinitas and a lot of Northern San Diego is just a primo place to live........but it can be really spendy.

I also lived in Tucson for 18 months, but I didn't mind the heat. My job ended, so I chose to move.

The two areas are like night and day. So is the cost of living and the cost of housing in each city. I'd follow the advice of some of the others and just be aware of the difference in cost of living when you are budgeting. Good luck with the move.

^ Other than real estate being significantly higher(couple that with outrageous property taxes), and traffic on the 5 during rush hour, I can't find anything wrong with the area in question. If money is no object...welcome to paradise!
