Gotta love wawa; I used to visit family in DE and wawa was everywhere..that, and there's a mean sandwich shop in DE that would be great to transplant here. Any kind of real and good jersey or east coast sub shop chain would work, actually. I know they have jersey mike's....but.... oh, it's not really good.

Although I didn't see DD for a long time after I moved out of Boston, I was surprised to see them in many Asian cities since moving here several years ago. I don't drink that much coffee anymore, but do stop by DD's on occassion, mostly out of nostalgia and their funny and endearing "Time to make the donuts!" commercials from the 80's:

Sort of the coffee shop equivalent of the "Where's the Beef?" ads for Wendy's.
Thanks for posting this-I loved those commercials...Growing up, they were a standard and very quotable. As little kids, we thought those commercials were freakin' hilarious.

Guess we can agree to disagree. Tri state area???? Or adults in new england, etc... I make the trip-and get totally excited whenever they are at any airport I'm at. Not for the coffee per se. Just the whole experience. Definitely a regional nostalgia from being a Boston area native.....though, my spouse loves it too. It's just fun. Not the best ever. Cream and sugar coffee culture=old school.

Anyway, the worst part about this for me is that it's downtown. uugh. Now, I actually have to go there...i haven't been downtown in years...

I can't remember the last time I ate a donut. They just don't excite me.

They are delicious, especially the jelly-filled ones, but one of the worst foods ever for your health as far as calories/nutrition go.

[Well, I thought my 1000th C-D post would be a little more meaningful than ripping on Dunkin Doughnut's jelly-filled treats, lol.]

I am not a fan of the coffee at all. But it has been and will always be a plain old 'cup o' Joe' since I have been growing up.
If walking into Starbucks for their version of a 'cup o Joe' (Pikes) is annoying then anyone would likely love DD's coffee JUST for some coffee and a snack. Service there is typically very fast and you and in/out lickety split.

Back in the day DD was nothing like it is now. I would mainly see them where commuters were aplenty like bus/subway terminals or just busy cross streets. It was a convenient grab and go for Bridge and Tunnel folks. But you would not really see them in any affluent residential neighborhood in Manhattan. Most of neighborhoods in NYC had a local coffee place or three that had bagels etc.

Its 2014, DD has upped the ante. They have gotten quite creative with their offerings. Hazenut, French Vanilla, frozen coffee drinks etc.

Its a calorie hike/diabetic/sugaraholic wonderland in there!

Downtown right near the Hyatt, Marriott and other hotels is a goldmine location for a DD. COnsidering all the convention business goers in that area from everywhere else there may be a DD.
DD lovers are fanatical about their DD coffee

That's what I'm talkin bout! Bigbucks coffee has turned into a pseudo-yuppie hipster office where everyone congregates but you don't hear anyone talking because they all have headphones on. Good luck if you want to sit down as everyone with a laptop hogs all 4 chairs at each table. If you want to sit outside it reeks of cigarette smoke. I'd rather get a cup of DD and roll outta there to a better environment like the beach.

I agree with this, Dunkin is more my style versus Starbucks. I don't want a "Vente" anything with a Frappe. Just give me a sausage/egg biscuit with a large coffee please.
