I've also seen people staying in a Walmart parking lot, the manager told me that they can legally stay there for 3 days.

For the record, I would choose living in a car in San Diego, over living in a house in many other parts of the country. California is awesome.

Couldn't you find an extended stay hotel in a good area at a decent rate?

If I remember correctly, I think Walmart actually has it in their policy to allow RV's to park overnight in their parking lots, which is why there is almost always one parked in every WM lot. Free security I guess.

Apparently not all Walmarts permit overnight parking.

Here is a list I found for CA:

California CA Wal-Mart Store Locations

Users have reported that it is not permitted in the San Diego Walmarts.

When I used to RV (and that was over 10 years ago), overnight parking at Walmart stores was not permitted. We did had other places to park overnight where it wasn't a problem, but couldn't park there every night.

lol...would be fascinated to read about whether OP ever actually did this and how long she/he lasted at it. Sounds like one of the worse ideas I've read on here.
