So....those who've read my posts know that San Diego and I have a volatile relationship. Now that we are going North I wanted to remember the good the bad and the ugly in no particular order.

I have had a great Job at Scripps. Wonderful hard working people.
The oceans and vistas are lovely and soul stirring
The weather is "appropriate".
People are "appropriate"

There are really no "great" restaurants in San Diego. Very good yes but not great.
A fly swatter will get more attention from others than the average citizen.

Great selection of organic foods here and a commitment to it by Vons

There was the time a drunk driver on 56 was imperiling others and when I called 911 I was told not to follow him or I would be charged with a crime.

There was the time a man driving past us the wrong way in a parking lot almost clipped up while we were walking so I kicked his car and instead of apologizing he wanted to fight me.

More than 60,000 people on my bumper in 5 years who were "appropriate" when I hit my brakes.
Medical services = get ready to wait.

More illegal aliens walking around going to school, using health care services paying nothing and bitching about it than I ever imagined. (inappropriate)

Chargers left (appropriate)

Best freeways of any major city.

Tolerant of Gay but unaccepting in the whole town. It's a personal thing.

Cops are appropriate.

People are getting angrier more aggressive on the roads (not appropriate)

There was the time that my sports car blew a tire at 1-15 and 163 going 75mph and the car careened across 5 lanes and was thrown off the shoulder. 1 person stopped to see if I was ok.

The Discount Tire guy lied about the damage said the car was safe to drive. It took 1 month and $3k to repair the damage. I met him later with his manager. (they were both appropriate...and really did not give a **** about me)

And that's the thing. Pretty, lovely beaches and appropriate.

Thanks for the memories.

It's not just you , the amount of people I meet in any given week that give a crap about their job or how well they do it is continuing to dwindle.

What makes you think that moving to Seattle will improve the quality of your life?

Ive visited there 4 times this past year. talked with people. It's chill, not as frantic, cheaper and people seem happier.

I just love the way so many people assume someone's here illegally just by looking at them.

And BTW, I just noticed you're moving to Seattle. Having just moved away from there myself, if you think it's going to solve any of your problems, think again.
