Here in Florida, not San Diego or Texas, fireworks are legal and some of the neighbors had shows that would rival Disney's. I shot off a few with the next door neighbors. I am too cheap to spend $$$ which can be done easily with the "Skyrocketing" price of skyrockets.

That being said, we had numerous people outside watching. The worse part was the cleanup the next morning. I spent two hours cleaning debris from fireworks out of the neighbors yards. That included cardboard, paper, plastic, unexploded firecrackers....all of which had dropped into the neighbors yards....probably mostly from us, but not all from us. 5 houses.
THEN I had to sweep 5 driveways AND the street. When I was finished, I had a paper bag and a half's worth of debris.

Why do I do this? Well, how would YOU like it if the neighbor's shot off fireworks and left a mess (accidentally) in your yard? I simply got to it before they could.

And next year, I am not buying any. it is not worth it to have to clean up. But I did clean up our mess.

And it is akin to just lighting up money.

When we lived in Texas, Dallas had and still has a ban on fireworks. It was fun to sneak some into town, light them off in a dark field, like a school yard. My brother and his old lady did that with a 100 shot Saturn Rocket. Next, a firetruck actually sped up to the school, then drove off. The hid under a bleacher for about 30 minutes until the cops stopped driving around looking for who shot those off. Good times.

Long ago, the Highway Patrol and Fire Marshall would watch firework stands, if they saw a person buy them then head back into Dallas Count, they would confiscate the fireworks. This came to an end after several people went in corvettes and such, making it dangerous and impossible for the fire Marshall to catch them. I recall One newspaper in the late 80's said that this procedure was halted "After a series of cat and mouse chases that make Smokey and the Bandit look like Amateurs"

While many of us god a good laugh, There are too many people who are irresponsible with fireworks. I mean seriously, people still drink and drive and some cannot clean up the mess they make, according to this video....

So hey, if someone wants to play with fireworks, be safe, be responsible, and be considerate of other people's property, and needs. That is what we tried to do.

Well, there is no state law against fireworks in TX but almost every municipality forbids them. So anyone living in a city (are you in San Diego?) is forbidden from setting fireworks. It's done anyway, extensively.

That's an understatement. They are still going off daily here.

FWIW, here in Chandler AZ most fireworks that don't shoot up into the sky are legal. But everyone has the ones that shoot up into the sky, especially after idiot government decided that fireworks somehow spread COVID and got rid of the official shows.

People like fireworks. What are you going to do? We have a dog that goes nuts, and we don't care to hear them after about 9PM, but we aren't kings of the world. Dealing with fireworks a couple of days a year is a small price to pay for that little thing called freedom.

Ok. You got me. How do fireworks buy, supply, protect, defend freedom?
