Well, I've been rear-ended, T-boned and a passenger in roll-over accident. Had several cars totaled; never been at-fault though. Without several of the safety technologies I listed previously, I might not be here today.

I'll gladly pay for the latest safety advances/technology as my car is one of the few items I use every single day. Safety and a high-quality car are not something I scrimp on.

But you do you and keep rolling the dice.

I rather like the fact I'm driving a 9000 lb steam roller

I like sitting up high, and the weight of driving my half ton van, and know that if someone hits me, I'll still be around.

Payments aren't for me, and my van has exactly what I need.

No. It's not worthless to me. It's worthless to insurance companies.

Ask your broker or agent how much they would pay you if you totaled your Astrovan. I bet it's not much.

I have a '31 Ford Pickup. Under normal conditions, my insurance company would pay me zero if I totaled that truck. However, it's worth $50k to me.

So I bought a special kind of car insurance called 'stated value' or 'agreed value'. If my '31 gets totaled, my insurance company pays me $50k.

Check the value of your Astrovan before it's too late. You may get nothing if it gets totaled.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I'm envisioning a minivan. Am I wrong?

Or is your van more of the "Free Candy" type van?

Oh no, you're NOT getting away with this.
Nope.
Nope.
Nope.

You have a '31 Ford Pick-up, and you don't post up a pic?

Oh, for shame!

Ok, you know what to do!

These are the questions that the OP asked, and they should be adhered to.

What's the typical rental insurance for condo or 1 BR/1BA apt in SD with 100k liability?
How much is the car insurance for an old car with 150+k miles? Best places to shop?
What's the typical utilities per month over there?
Only interested in internet, not cable. Any service recommendations here?
