I'd love to see a 4x4 conversion for one of those.

Thank you. I took out the rear seats and use it as a cargo van. It's great for moving and hauling stuff around.

What's the typical rental insurance for condo or 1 BR/1BA apt in SD with 100k liability?
How much is the car insurance for an old car with 150+k miles? Best places to shop?
What's the typical utilities per month over there?
Only interested in internet, not cable. Any service recommendations here?
Yup, and they were answered in post #3.

The rest is just "astrovan crap."

There's nothing wrong with Astrovan's. All I did was answer the questions, but one person objected to my van, which was unnecessary.

I'm sure when the OP finally arrives, there will probably be more questions.

I didn't object to your van. I objected to you saying that you are safer in a 20 year old minivan than you would be in a newer vehicle. Your claim that newer vehicles with newer safety tech are less safe than a 20 year old minivan is absurd.

It may be absurd to you, but not to me. Also, none of the OP's questions pertained to Astrovans. Some people prefer older and larger vehicles, and pay for them outright, as opposed to people who prefer newer, smaller vehicles and make payments on them. Everyone has a personal preference, as to what they prefer to drive, and mine just happens to be an Astrovan.

I bought a 2000 Honda CRV (cash) and sold it a week later. It was nothing but a tiny tin can, and I felt unsafe in it, so I got rid of it for more than what I paid for it.

Do you not realize that vehicles are getting larger and heavier with every generation, to say nothing of the safety tech that also improves?

CRVs are crap, but that doesn't mean all other "newer" vehicles are also.

To each their own. I don't believe in payments. prefer older vehicles, and like what I drive, so why do I need a new one. Why should I replace a perfectly good vehicle with no problems because someone doesn't like it? There are people who use Astrovans as work vans, and when I had my business that's what I used it for. I have a co-worker who drives a Class B RV, and no one ever questions why he drives it.

What I drive suits me, but not others, so why don't you pick on the people who drive pickup trucks?

Ok, you know what to do!
I've posted pics of my collectible cars many times. Here's my '31 Ford. Internally, it's no longer a Ford. The engine and drivetrain are from a Corvette.

Do you want to buy it? I'm downsizing and the '31 needs to go.

When I was reviewing my mom's financial books, I noticed she was paying full-insurance on her 20-year old Subaru. She loved her Subaru but for insurance purposes, it was worthless. So I called her agent and asked why he will billing her for full-coverage of her Subaru. He totally apologized. He should have removed the full-coverage of her Subaru years ago. If she totaled that car, the insurance company would have gave her nothing.

Call your insurance agent. Don't waste money on car insurance.
