Yeah, subsidence is a major problem on that stretch because it is built over an old landfill. As the garbage in the old landfill continues to decompose voids open up, water percolates down through the soil bringing sand and particles down to fill the voids, and thus the road on top cracks and becomes uneven. This process will continue for another 100 years until all the garbage decomposes so that means every couple years for the next century we're going to have to fix the buckling road.
