Talking In my humble opinion....

I vote San Francisco!

Public Transportation- it is easier to get around San Francisco proper than it is to get around LA on a bus pass. And it is much easier to get around the bay area on buses/trains than it is to get around the LA suburbs.

Clean Air- I don't miss living next to the San Gabriel mountains and not being able to see them because of the smog from the 210 freeway. Many of my friends developed life long asthma living down there.

Cost of Living- Los Angeles cost less. You can get a cheaper, bigger, apartment there and get fresh fruit at the grocery stores for cheaper.

Job Market- So many jobs want me to be flexible and work in SF or LA. I am not sure, if this is true in any field.

Dating- I experience the same issues all around the world meeting nice men. But in San Francisco, the guys seem to be in shape.

Friendly People- People seem to smile very often in both cities. That means soo much to me.

Good Night!

I'm not a big fan of LA, so obviously my vote goes to SF. But it's all a personal thing, so I can't say one is better than the other - even though I'm tempted to.

As for why? In my opinion San Francisco has better weather (I like it chilly), better scenery, more outdoor activities nearby, better air quality, charming architecture, less shallow attitude, less urban sprawl, and on and on. LA does have some great job opportunities though, and I think the cost of living is somewhat more reasonable.

these are two very different cities and it depends on what you are looking for and what type of person you are to determine which city would be best. But based on the types of people that frequent C-D, you'll probably want SF more so.

Of all the cities in California it's got to be San Francisco, thats RIGHT BABY!!! and you ask why?

San Francisco has the looks, LA has the sprawl, if it was'nt for the San Gabriel mountains
LA would'nt even have a desent backdrop as oppose to San Francisco and it's 47 square miles and three hundred sixty degree relative bearing of nothing but scenic beauty which you may also incorporate the wine country.

I am a native of LA, and I vote for SF as well. Nothing beats the real city, the ocean view, and the landscapes.
