Also has to do with where the original immigrants settled, which explains why Daly City is 35% Filipino - and supposedly has the most Filipinos outside of the Phillipines itself!
gizmo980, i think you have it wrong. Daly City is more like 53% filipino, 30% hispanic, 13% pacific islander, and 4% caucasian. i think thats closer to it, i should know i live there lol

I also basically live there (about 2 miles away), so I should know too! And according to City-data, I was correct... perhaps you're thinking of the total ASIAN population, which is closer to 60%? Either way, these are the real statistics, which are all fairly different from what you thought:

* Filipino (31.6%)
* Hispanic (22.3%)
* White Non-Hispanic (17.7%)
* Chinese (13.6%)
* Other race (11.3%)
* Two or more races (6.2%)
* Black (4.6%)
* Other Asian (2.3%)
* Asian Indian (1.0%)
* American Indian (1.0%)
* Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander (0.9%)
* Japanese (0.8%)
* Korean (0.8%)
* Vietnamese (0.7%)

The South Bay has an overwhelming Asian population while they are only present in less than 3% of Marin's total population.
Since when does white = conservative?

Malibu is rich and white and very liberal as well.
