Interesting because most people I meet either pay virtually nothing or live for free. It's especially common in Latin/Asian households (I am Chinese).

Wishful thinking then

It only takes one to win...

When asked the number one thing lottery winners say they will do is buy a house... or sometimes several.

Is it common for them to go online and complain.

maybe you need to expand your social circles. I am Chinese too and I don't know anyone living at home with their parents except one guy who is Asian, living at home at age 50 and has never moved out once, and is darn proud of how much wealthier he is than everyone else.

Ballot initiatives are not magical. The Assembly can easily convene a state convention. And I wasn't aware you're an official delegate. Are you just expecting to be chosen? Are you a politically well-connected person? Volunteer on all the campaigns, pols know you by sight and name?

As I said...you're not gonna get to vote on this. Neither am I. Or anyone contributing to this thread.

Prop 13 is toast. Unless something drastic and dramatic happens to undo the Democrat supermajority.

And if they get impatient before they can amend the Constitution then they'll just use the nuclear option on other taxes and fees. They could do that tomorrow if they wanted to. And even a voter revolt isn't going to undo the Democrat supermajority. It would just be a new rogues gallery of different Democrats.

Rinse and Repeat. You put one Leland Yee in the pen, another one just pops up to take his place. Like whack-a-mole.

Prop 13 is a proposition, unless there's another proposition or the Supreme Court of California seems it unconstitutional it's not going anywhere. Like I said. I don't care if they tax the wealthy, I say go for it.

Governor Brown has repeatedly said Prop 13 is settled law... who better to know?

There are many things that can be done but won't because it is political suicide... any one remember the car tax that led to a recall?

I pledge to walk precincts, volunteer and raise my voice to protect Prop 13...

That is what politics and civic engagement is for. Evidently the city council of Palo Alto voted on it (and that's the County of Santa Clara, not the city). You petition your representatives.

Maybe for once - public monies go to the public good rather than for subsidizing corporations who don't need it.
