Hi Everyone,

Any ideas for things to do in Santa Fe with pre-teens? My parents are taking my two nephews, 10 and 12, and both totally obsessed with their computers and online games at home. They'd like to visit Santa Fe for a day or two without hearing the "I'm bored" chants.

Any ideas for things to do/see?

Thanks!

Kathy

One thing I think is cool to do in the summer in Santa Fe is take the ski lift to the top of the mountain. It's a fun ride up, and at the top, you feel like you can see forever.

Bandelier National Monument is a fun and interesting place to go to. It they are interested in history and Native American stuff, they should learn a lot .... and at the very least will give them some exercise hiking around the area.

A drive up to Taos and visit to the pueblo would be interesting too; however they must be mature enough kids to behave and respect the Taos Indians in their village.

Do they skateboard? I haven't lived in Santa Fe for four years but there use to be a skateboard park in town.

Joe Hayes, a wonderful storyteller, is at the Wheelwright museum Saturdays and Sundays at 7 pm. Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian
