I noticed many of you talking in the PC area about prices paid for pools.
Many were 27/28k for pool, deck, heat, salt system....this seems lower than what I've come across in Bton.
What are your pool/deck sizes and materials?
I've had several quotes for:
25x33 flocrete deck/cage
25x16 pool with sun shelf and pebble tech
all came in at ~ 28k.
Add ~2k for heater
and~1200 for salt.
Did you all haggle and negotiate yourdeals?
If so, what are the best options to negotiate?

I negotiated for about 3 months. Started with 5 or 6 companies. Two didn't even respond to my 2nd inquiries. The rest were all willing to negotiate. I eventually got the price down from $34k to $27k. As far as best "options" to negotiate, they need to know that you know the going rates and are not going to overpay. They need to know that you're getting other quotes. They need to know that you are an informed homeowner, not an unsuspecting victim to be taken advantage of. YOU need to specify the options you want, not letting them upsell you on too many expensive options (i.e. a $600 LED pool light that you can buy yourself for $150). YOU need to specify your budget up front (i.e. "I have to stay under $XXXX.XX") If the companies you're working with won't haggle, move on to someone else. Good luck!
