I know you have to be a permanent resident to get Homestead, so if you snowbird for a year or two, then become permanent what happens/ do they re-assess (sp?) your home every year and then once you are permanent and do homestead it can't go up more than 3%?

@Trbl39, I have two exemption, homestead and widow. I bought this house in 2010, in that year I paid full amount $2,114 then in 2011 I paid $1,580.
