For all the realtors on this site and others not here, THANK YOU for the direction to and ability to use the FREE MLS site, it is VERY easy to use, always up to date as far as I can tell, and has great filters to start narrowing down our search for our next residence/adventures. I don't know if it is available through your local associations, paid for by realtor commission fees, by the realty companies, but it is INVALUABLE and thanks for making it available.

Are you talking about the My Florida Homes MLS site?

There is a copy-cat site with a similar name. The real one is myfloridahomesmls

There's a slew of free MLS sites, and My Florida Homes MLS is probably the most awkward to use, at least on an ipad. But it's the most up to date, so that's a big plus. I use 3 different free MLS sites, why I'm not sure.

I have a mobile MLS app if you're interested that is map based and draws directly from up to date MLS data.

Actually the new Matrix MLS system we switched to this week runs on smart phones, ipads and other similar devices and no longer requires Internet Explorer as the operating system. So mobile apps aren't really necessary.

There is a learning curve here but the new system offers both agents and the public a lot more bells and whistles.

You are half right. For agents, the Matrix site does run quite well on all devices. For the public facing website our MLS provides, it is responsive to different devices but does not work well on all of them. Hence the need for a mobile app.

In fact, the mobile app I am using comes directly from MFRMLS, which the public can download. You should really investigate all the great tools we have to provide to clients.

I have taken the public version of the MLS for a test drive this week. The new public version runs well on my phone, I've also asked several customers their opinions of it.

FYI, the mobile app you refer to is from the MLS, so why say "I have a mobile app" which implies people need to contact you personally to download it vs going to the public version of the MLS to do so?

Sunshine- I noticed that the "sold" data for Venice has not been coming up on any of the RE websites since 6/9. Is that because there was a switch to the new system? I find it hard to believe not a single house has closed since Monday.
