You can always shop in Carolina's. Much better pricing and they have everything. We used Carolina Rustica and none of the local stores could come close. We saved on average 30%.

We have been comparing prices found in NC and I concur. What do you know about taxes? By purchasing from NC can you avoid them?

Bar Stools we got on Wayfair. We went the foam mattress route in all three bedrooms and saved quite a bit using Casper. Was able to find steel/foldable box springs on Amazon and so far both the mattresses and box springs are great (somewhat to my surprise). Lanai furniture comes Monday and is from Sams Club. Used Closet Tec for Closet and office built-ins (finishing up today). Still need blinds (temp/paper blinds from Home Depot are awesome), ceiling fans, area rugs and

Of the stores in our area (Venice/North Port/Port Charlotte) Havertys, Bacons and Rooms to Go are "comparable" in price and I believe quality. If just looking at those stores they would be the high end. If you broaden the area to include Sarasota I think you will find even "higher end" at least in terms of price. We looked at Hudsons as well and frankly were put off a bit by the prices but this may have been a rationalization as we really didn't see anything we liked.

While somewhat daunting at first...it is fun! We were somewhat overwhelmed at first with an empty house but finally got our act together and focused on the MBR and LR first. Used a card table, folding chairs and air mattresses for quite a while

Good Luck!
Good info for future reference!!
