Thank you so much for the detailed information.
As a backup plan, we might attend either public school or homeschooling.

Most of the kids I know who go there love it, but that's not the case for all kids. We've had nothing but great experiences for the two years we've been there. My daughter's previous school had gifted teachers but they were not allowed to teach beyond the grade level which is what our daughter needed. More homework depends on the teacher. Probably more than her peers at her old school, but not hours per night. She's only in 3rd grade though. Many kids opt to go to their districted high school for the more traditional high school experience. I like the school philosophy and find the kids to be very accepting and more inclusive than her assigned school was.

Ain't worth it. Smart kids are going to be smart and supported by their parents. They will achieve in most any supportive setting.

My opinion is just that...my opinion...this is coming from a former teacher, and a product of a snotty-nosed, uppity, well-known private boarding school(s) in New England.

Take everything with a grain of salt. Education is far more than "book learning", "homework", "grades", "reputation" , "admission rates", or Degrees held by staff.

Balance.
Pine View is an exceptional school with exceptional teachers and gifted students.
Juvenile delinquents, gangster kids, and kids of drug addict parents will not be found attending here.
Now, how the heck would you be in a position to comment/know/assert anything about the drug usage of any parent of any student attending Pine View? Just curious.

Do you know what kind of martini's they get drunk on while hanging out at Libby's or the Westin rooftop bar as well?

So you are NOT a "native/local" as you claimed in the restaurant thread?

In the city of Sarasota, or in Sarasota County?

I think the City of Sarasota has just 3; Sarasota High, Riverview, & Booker. Riverview is ranked highest of these 3.

In the County, Venice is well rated, & all the students I've spoken to really like it a lot.

If I had a student in High School in this area, I'd choose Venice.

Thanks, I should have clarified but I meant the county. I had always thought Venice was the best, but I recently saw Riverview ranked higher so I wasn’t sure anymore.

My son graduated last year - and dont kid yourself - there were "druggie" kids and vaping in the bathrooms - many kid were doing heavy drugs - one girl he dated turned out to be an alcoholic - her Mom was a Doctor and unaware

Many that go there are also wealthy - kids driving new high end cars - I had to keep telling my son that it was not the "norm" -

One thing that was good about Pine View - my son was able to take college level courses there so now he does not have to take them and pay for them in college.
