Exactly. I saw plates from at least 12 states+Ontario yesterday. And this is the first year we saw plates from every single state. North Dakota was the white whale, but we finally saw it.

It's nowhere near being over. Sometimes it feels like there are people living in an alternate reality trying to convince us what we are seeing is not true.

And I doubt our town will ever be the same. We're going to have to cross some restaurants off the list, as I'm guessing that even in July they will be packed.

I'm seeing less out of state car tags, & parking lots at the beaches are easing up, & again, less outof state tags.

The Canadians & Minnesotans stay longer due to the weather back home still being lousy.

The 3-4 month renters have left, the Spring breakers are mostly gone, its the snow birds who own 2 homes who can leave as they wish that are staying longer...& the new permanent residents that we are seeing now.

I stil have not tried a top 10 restaurant from 5-8pm yet, but I have noticed Fins at the Venice Pier loading up starting at 4:45. By 5:30, its crowded, & by 6 its packed & too loud for me to deal with....ugh!

It's better than it was, but we have a a ways to go.
These 85 to 90 degree days we've been having everyday since mid march isn't helping with the beach as well.

The weather up North hasnt been too good, so those who own 2 homes can delay theri return back North until their weather there improves.

Yep. Plus, I was running into a lot of locals getting out to the beach to enjoy it too the last time I was there 2 weeks ago.

Was a lot of vacationers too. You can tell the ones who are local or the ones on vacation just the way they dress. Us locals dress more sloppy lol than they do when going out.

Yup - a promising early Spring and mostly misery since then.

More i think about it I really think a lot of these snowbirds are renters coming here. It seems not until January season really kicks into high gear in my area and we get slammed. They rent jan thru mar the coldest months. Im running into a lot of these types that are short term renters. I work at publix two days a week and have a fleamarket business. Nit until the end of dec it really picks up in a hurry. A lot of the customers i get are renters too for just 1 to 3 months.

Some snowbirds that left, listed their homes/condo's for sale as they left. I'm seeing more used home supply coming onto the market right now, because some snowbirds do not plan upon returning here.

I-75 Northbound was full of people leaving again today. Loaded up cars, vans, trucks w/ out of state tags, 2 or more occupants.

Why do you think that is?

Could it be a combination of getting a huge profit selling the house, BUT also with the homeowners insurances, taxes, etc. all going up many are cutting back and unloading them, maybe just renting for a couple months for the coldest months now?

This inflation is really hitting hard. Even if you had a nice nest egg saved up to retire on the inflation hurts, especially now that it's getting out of control and relying on your interest, dividends from investments and social security check. Hard to stretch your income out

When some retirees reach a certain age, they want to be closer to family and friends for support, so they leave Florida, & move back North.

Others just want to cash out of their 2nd home here while the market seems to be pro-seller.

Finding fast & high quality healthcare may also be creeping into this area as a reason to head North. I've asked a few neighbors when they are leaving and why, & healthcare appts. has arisen more than a few times.

The RV'ers are mostly gone now. I've driven past a few of the RV parks and they are mostly cleared out.
