Big House,
You beat me to Mr&mrssunshine's post. I was in transit yesterday so I did not have computer access. I would like to offer this lesson in our fine language to our overseas friends.

The phrase >>and I think we may have lost (before Big House points it out )<< is grammatically incorrect.

May or Might: Where’s the difference? (http://www.blogs.english4today.com/index.php/2007/11/may-or-might-where%E2%80%99s-the-difference/ - broken link)

Now, when you are using ‘might‘ as the past tense of the auxiliary ‘may‘might’ in the sentence: then you stick with ‘
  • He might have caught his train if he had left work on time.

Anyway, I'm off to the beach and will enjoy an iced tea!!!

Mr&mrrs,
Yesterday was April 15th, which is the day income tax returns are filed and balances paid.
President Obama and Congress have approved a massive governmental spending program, dubbed the economic stimulus program, to combat the current economic problems we are having. Some people are in favor of the plan, others not. There is concern that some of this plan has a lot of special interest spending, commonly called "pork barrel spending".
Yesterday there were nationwide protests against this spending program. Many people are fearful that the higher spending will result in much higher taxes.
Tea Party protests: Could they rally change in government? | csmonitor.com

There is some thinking that this is the beginning of some serious spending reform and some thinking that this was a one day affair.
Hope this explains.

Sounds like it didn't go well.

I'm glad to see Sarasota residents pay their taxes and support the country.
