I will probably look for a part time job somewhere for a few days a week but I do not need a job. I also will be doing some volunteering . I hear mostly great things about the area but I do hear some people saying not to move there. Some mention crime and no jobs and vacant houses. At the same time I see national publications listing the area as one of the "best places to live".
.
Welcome to the area, You will be in a great centrally located spot for all the activities You mentioned. Good Luck with everything!

While driving around I realize now I am almost next door to a college and only a couple miles from Venice so I am liking where I am. I have North Port, Venice and continuing education classes to help fill my time. Golf, fishing, tennis, beaches and lots of sunshine who could ask for more. I really need to check out the area better.

I like Fells Point too. I'll have to check out the Bohemian Café though...I've never been there. And I've been meaning to visit the Visionary Art Museum as well. It's on my short list!

You're right! I didn't really know what to expect...thought maybe half of the houses would be boarded up and vandalized, but that's not the case at all. I can't believe that I can actually afford a nice house on a lake or canal in North Port. I have always dreamed of living on the water, but there is absolutely no waterfront property up here in Baltimore County anywhere close to my price range.

And thanks for offering to check things out in person; I appreciate that.

Your welcome, and if you go to Fells Point - check out Callie's Court.
