Yeah but you're not going to wear that heavy coat everyday though. So its not like the Midwest where every single day is cold in the winter time.

If I was accostomed to walking around in my bathing suit all day, BBQing in my shorts and slept in my undies. . . I would want a "heavy overcoat" in Jan/Sav. as well

A "heavy" coat down here is a long way from a heavy coat elsewhere. A wind breaker with a lining is my husband's idea of heavy. Mine is a lot more, but still a long way from the "heavy" that goes along with mittens, scarfs and head gear.

That's what's so nice about Savannah. You can choose the extra month to be a Spring month with all the Azaleas blooming, or a Fall month when Football gets started. The problem is that you have to register first and let your employer know when you plan to take that extra month off.

We just spend our first winter here after surviving 20 winters in the upper Midwest. Frankly, we were disappointed that it got so cold. (Though many people say this was a colder than average winter.)

New Years Day was 70, though--and there have been spells of nice weather on and off throughout the winter. By upper Midwest standards, Savannah doesn't have a winter. I tossed my winter coats before moving here and don't plan to purchase one. Layers work well.

Summer? Loved it! Hot and humid but manageable.
