Hello everyone =)
My family and I will be moving to Hinesville, GA in just about 3-4 weeks. My husband is in the Army and will be working on base at Ft. Stewart.
I Have 2 children who will be in grade 2 and 5. I'm trying to find the best place for us to live and am wanting some advice on which areas are the best and also which elementary schools. As for schools, I see there is a Liberty county school system and also a Long county. Also, I see there are several schools to choose from in the Liberty but only one in Long. My kids have been wearing school uniforms since they've started school and hate them. Liberty requires uniforms but Long doesn't. So, being the mom that I am, I want to try to make them happy and more comfortable =) Does anyone know anything about Smiley Elementary in Long county and/or the living area around there? I'm also looking for pros and cons for Liberty county vs. Long county. We weren't able to get our house sold here in NC so we are having to rent it out. Therefore, we will have to live in an apartment there instead of buying a house. I know I should have been doing research way before this but the Army has been jacking us around and we only barely got my husband's orders of where we were going =/ I don't have much time until we move and am stressing so much about it so I welcome any advice or any information that will help us decide to where we need to look for our new home. Thanks everyone!

Long County is very rural and relatively poor. Have you checked the statistics on the schools there? Have you compared Liberty county schools to those in Bryan county? If I had kids and HAD to live near Hinesville, I'd be looking at the schools in South Bryan, near Richmond Hill.

You could also live on post, if there's room. They have schools and good facilities for families there.

Default thanks

Someone else has also told me to check Richmond Hill out. I was looking on-line trying to find apartments there but only one place is coming up and they don't allow pets. We have 2 cats. =) I found it odd that they wouldn't have more apartment complexes. Is this a pretty small town?
