Well you know, folks in Central Florida were disbelieving when rumors began circulating that Walt Disney was buying up swampland in the 1960s ...,

But the difference is Medient Studios is not "buying" the property. . . the IDA is. Time is on our side to see if this is going anywhere. When you watch a penny stock, how far up can it go in a day, week, month? Very slowly.

Additionally, even if this project is a success, I'm not sure the "success" will go to Medient or some other entity that has been created or will be created in the future.

Yes the Effingham IDA is apparently still paying for the property with borrowed money with interest. I wonder if any members of the IDA invested their own money in the stock or were given any shares. It was in the two dollar range during the summer 2013 when all this deal making was going on between the IDA and Medient Studios. Six months later Jan 2014 is trading around two cents on a good day. I believe this stock is being manipulated.

I asked my financial advisor if he'd get me some of those Medient stocks and he flat out said no.

For those that are even thinking of buying I recommend they view: Manu Kumaran Twitter Account on line. I love the picture of him playing golf in Savannah. Man, I can make some nice bux off this guy in a money game. Also note the personal comments shared by friends.

I wonder how much checking the IDA did before passing the bond issue. There is an awful lot of stuff on the net if you know where to go. For example in his proposal to IDA he mention a film to his credit. Well, yes, same last name, but not his...his father. Oh well, not my tax $$$

This reminds me of that episode of "Andy Griffith" when the producer comes to town wanting to make a movie, and all the Mayberry town folk bend over backwards acting all "Hollywood" ... even cutting down the town's prize oak tree because it's "in the way."

When The Mellon Bank heir came on board with Medient a few months ago it sounded pretty impressive. I put it on the back burner until I had some free time yesterday "to play with my computer".

If you want to get some insight on Team Medient Google Matthew Mellon.

I had dinner with a group of people last night that included a woman whose husband works in the Effingham building and zoning department. She said the Medient people have not submitted ONE construction document to the county yet -- NOT ONE! She said that outside of the IDA, everybody else out there sees this for exactly what it is. None of us were surprised.

^^^^^This.

Further more, I read and re-read "Mellon's interest" and his Twitter account. HE didn't invest... (the spin).
He was "brought in to raise funds" for the project. Quite a difference one would say.

We are all here to learn and I think in short time we can form a group to appeal to the IDA that we would like to build a bridge in Brooklyn NY and would like to finance the project with county money. Hey, you never know.
