Now I know where "...media that has eaten up RoadSnacks data" gets all those dopey time fillers they use for 23 out of 24 hours a day news coverage.

Savannah named one of the friendliest cities in the world....

Savannah and its many charms are once again drawing international attention.

Travel + Leisure magazine did a survey to find the World’s 30 Friendliest Cities, and our very own Hostess City came in at No. 10. We beat cities such as Nashville, New Orleans, Copenhagen and Reykjavik.

“Every year, Travel + Leisure asks readers to weigh in on their favorite cities around the globe in our annual World’s Best Awards survey. While some are wooed by famed landmarks and ancient relics, or the sheer number of prized artworks preserved within a city's museums, others are won over by the people.

A columnist for the Windsor Ontario Star came to Savannah for vacation and found it grand. Some of her fellow Canadians were appalled.

LOL. Yep it cost plenty of $$$ to prepare and serve up Hype. You know, Hype goes well with a converted bus station on the side, with a heaping order of "he's from New York!"

Yesterday we ate at The Florence for the first time. It was a spur of the moment thing. When we arrived, around 6, only one other table was occupied. When we left about an hour later there were maybe a dozen customers in the whole place. Our server assured us that it was an exceptionally slow night for some reason. We had no reason not to believe her.

We had a bread sampler appetizer and split a house salad and pizza. We also had two watermelon gin drink concoctions. Total: Around $60 with tip. Though pricey, it was truly one of the best meals I've had a long time. And the cocktails were simply outstanding. Delicious! If not for the price of $10 each, I would've had more than one.

If The Florence were downtown, it would be packed every night. Unfortunately the location on victory at Whitaker is a major hindrance. I hope they succeed because the building is truly beautiful and the menu is creative and interesting, if far more expensive than my wallet will allow.

Haven't posted one of these in a while. This one, unfortunately, it's pretty lame.
