Elton John grosses $870K at near sellout in Savannah

http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/n...ellout-in.html

FUN FACT: Elton John has kept his US home in Atlanta for 25 years because it allows him to fly under 2 hours to 80 percent of the American market and thus perform many quick turnaround dates (without having to stay over etc). He flies into Savannah, performs and is home in bed in Atlanta in no time flat.

We saw him a few years back on one of his previous stops at the Civic Center. It was a great show!

Club One had their Christmas party tonight. Meantime the basement level hosted the wrap party for "Lizzy." Lots of celebs and media types there. Met a gay guy from Australia who'd been here a couple of months and said Savannah had the BEST drag queens / female impersonators he'd ever seen -- ANYWHERE! Ive heard this before from people as diverse as San Francisco and New York.

Just looked this up. I had no idea that they were filming this in Savannah. What a great cast! Actors from some of my favorite series over the years: Chloe Sevigny, Denis O'Hare, Kim Dickens. Did you interface with any of them? Details, sweetie, details! Names! Names!

I did not work on "Lizzy" but have many friends who did. It was a quick, intense shoot (about 6 weeks) and most of the cast and crew (including Chloë Sevigny) made Club One their "home away from home" during their time in Savannah (thus why Club One hosted the wrap party).

I spent most of this fall working on THIS amazing show! Coming in March! (Look close at the explosion scene at the VERY end of the clip and you might see me! )

It does look amazing. How was this not on my radar? Especially since I find historical drama irresistable.
News, where is the amazing plantation house in the trailer? IMDB doesn't have any filming locations listed.
You got to be an extra? What fun that you can see yourself on screen. I got my 15 minutes years ago when they were filming The Exorcist on the Georgetown U. campus. Ellen Burstyn and the priest are talking on a bridge and you can see my little blonde head pass by in the background.

Really good popcorn-on-the-couch film, BTW.
