Several times last year. works great. one lady used to be a detective and it was her second time so we tipped her well she took us home from downtown and another time it was a guy that was at the airport (some Ubers wait there) that has four kids so he needs flexibility and does uber full time. it's one of the best things that has been invented recently. I am not sure why taxis are in business. I have had so much better (yet cheaper?) experiences with uber. Same for airbnb. Twice as good half the price. It's the shareconomy! Or gigconomy.

Why tip? Uber includes tip. It's cashless,

Last Saturday night I was standing on a crowded downtown street corner waiting for a light to change, a car pulled up, the driver leaned out and yelled "one of y'all (last name), three people waved their hands, got in and sped off. I said aloud, "So THAT'S how Uber works!" And everybody laughed cause I was I guess the dumb old guy in the bunch who'd never actually seen it in action, much less used it.

So yeah ... That's my experience. And from what I can tell, Savannah is Uber heaven.

Used it a bunch in Vegas last week. Sure beat the cab fares, and the drivers were all courteous and safe, and even quicker to pick up. There sure were a ton of drivers around. I'm not sure how the liability angle works with Uber, but hopefully they've got it covered.

Works in NYC like a charm. Cheaper to airport and Manhattan than yellow cab or car service. I brought this up because I need to meet someone for dinner near the airport and I don't want to drive back to downtown after my one drink...........a bottle of wine.

SL
Maybe you misunderstood. Uber is a "car" service. Did you use the "escort" service that goes under the same name?

Had first Uber experience about a week ago in Sav. AAAAA! Two minutes picked me up in downtown to airport. About 1/2 the fare including tip vs. cab.No cash. No bother. Plus heard about driver's grandkids playing soccer that afternoon. Lovely lady.
