But they have baby alligators! And exotic birds! And feral cats! Lots and lots of feral cats!

Oh, well you'll be glad to know that there is a big sign up now, saying that the cats are not feral. They have been spayed and are up to date on shots.

The baby alligators are alive and well in their pond of green, algae water, waiting for the day they can go "to the farm" and become alligator bites.

They've got their gimmicks to draw in customers, don't they? There was a gator or two at Shell House, too (don't get me started on that place -- is it still open?). Just a come-on -- like when my sister and every other young girl wore halter tops in the 1970s. They worked too.

If I want grub, NB, I'll just go to Carey Hilliard's. Far more decent quality/price/satisfaction ratio.

.
The Tybee town council must have clamped down on the Shack's owners. More and more, it seems that the council doesn't kid around these days.

We made the mistake of going to Shell House once. Love spending $25 on an entree served on styrofoam. I just remembered Love's Seafood. We thought that was pretty good.

Yes, isn't that outrageous? But it was a place my late mother loved. I hated it. Haven't tried Love's, though my relatives liked it. Good deep frying, they said, and portions are huge. Fried seafood platters are one of my favorite things in the world.

I'm making my list of streets to visit and places to eat. Thanks for this info. I've heard to not bother going to Paula Deens. Is that accurate? Looking forward to our visit.

Yes, you are correct, unless you are a big fan and want to say you've been there, or unless you've never eaten fried chicken, boiled shrimp, or macaroni and cheese.

Other suggestions that haven't been mentioned yet are Alligator Soul and Sapphire Grill. We haven't even touched on some of the fine restaurants at the hotels....or the Asian and sushi places.

And if you like scored flounder with a glaze on it, the version we had at Loves was better than the one at The Pink House.
