I am looking to relocate to somewhere in GA in the next six months. I am going to visit a friend in Macon later this month, but am not sure that is where I want to go. I live outside of Baltimore now, and the crime and dirt and sky high prices are just too much to deal with! I am a 30 yr old female newly divorced and don't have much of a reason to stay in md, I cannot find any where decent to live where I can afford, so I am looking for a change. I am especially interested in Savannah, Macon and southern GA, but wanted to know how hard it is to find a job making decent wages and where I should avoid living. I just don't want to move to find myself in the same place I am in md, though the scenery and people are bound to be nicer!

Any advice on where to go or not to go would be a great help!

Be sure you have a job before you move anywhere. Some types of work are simply not available in every area. People tend to hire locally. The person that drops in from out of town with no visible means of support is not always considered a good risk for long term employment.

Good luck on your search.

I LOVE Savannah. I grew up in SE Georgia and honestly Savannah is the only place I'd consider!

I used to travel over most of GA in a sales job and Macon was part of my territory. It never held any appeal for me whatsoever. The best part about Macon was how close to Atlanta it was.
