I don't know the first thing about how to do this! I would be looking for a job as a drug and alcohol counselor, either in a treatment facility or outpatient center. I have two dogs and would need to live in a house with a yard. (Planning to rent initially) I'd also like to be close to the water. I am considering other cities as well, but really like the idea of Savannah. Any tips of information would help greatly.

Savannah would be perfect. The climate is mild compared to Long Island and there are tons of properties available near the water. We have a great rental market and a number of medical centers within close proximity.

Like to hear about fellow NYers and Long Islanders going there. So Askmetellme and kmeyers I am assuming you like it there since you have stayed that long, would love any feedback you can give as well. I have a large older dog and a smallish bird (haha..) I know that make a big difference here! and I am mostly sales related occupations/ Real Estate, and residential/Commercial lighting. I think I will be able to transfer my Real Estate license without much more schooling but have to double check the reciprocity laws in GA. And since will need immediate income do you know the survival rate of retail employees there? lol
