I'm moving to Seattle for a job in Redmond. Any advice would be appreciated!!!!

I plan to commute to Redmond for work.

I would like to live in Seattle near night life walking distance. I have no idea about Seattle. I'd like to be in a safe place. I own a car and am not rich. ~max $700/month rent.

Mid 20's.

What I don't like: "popped collars", "bros", hair gel, posh, "in-da-culb music" jam band, or college scenes.

Enjoy:
Indy rock, sometimes-hipsters, but going out doesn't need to involve live music or "cooler than thou scenes". I just like to hang out with fun people who are unique. Goofing off and conversation is a big plus. (People who enjoy being single)

Can anyone give me some tips? I've been looking around but not sure of map of the area.

Thanks for any advice on what kinds of areas/ where's what?

The usual suspects:
1) Queen Anne (near downtown, lots of 20-30 somethings)
2) Fremont/Wallingford (might be a little close to the U-District for you, tho)
3) Capitol Hill (known as the gay part of town but it's also very alternative/hipster friendly)
4) Ballard (traditionally an older neighborhood but it's gotten a lot younger in the last decade)
