I agree completely! It's refreshing to see others posting this as well. The only political discussion I ever had in over 20 years of living in Seattle was about "trickle-down economics" during the Reagan administration. And it was with a Bay Area transplant. Seattle residents generally have far better things to spend their time doing and discussing, than *yawn* politics; IDK about the OP, but my friends' and acquaintances' lives and interests were much more interesting. That's what Seattle people bond over.

A friend of mine who was born and raised in Seattle, said that the last few years, he was approached several times by women in their 20's, offering him their numbers!! Out of nowhere, while he was walking his dog in local parks. This guy was late 50's-60 when these incidents occurred, was obese, and had the long hair of a Russian Orthodox priest, which was one of his side-gigs. (OK, not a priest, but a choir director & priest's assistant.) The women would usually tell him, that he looked like someone who'd be interesting to talk to, and that they'd love to have coffee with him sometime.

True story.

So, that should tell you something about Seattle women's interest in "worldly status", model looks, and high-powered careers.

And btw, OP, please: organize your screeds into paragraphs. So much easier to read. Or didn't you learn that in school? Seattle women do appreciate at least moderately-educated guys. And it's spelled "clique", not "click".

To be generous to OP, Seattle's social scene is more reserved and if he's hitting on women in more aggressive ways it will be a turn off where it might not in another social milieu. We are more introverted here. Also, conservative or country is not really a big selling point in Seattle. Maybe head further south where it's more working class?

He gets a point for not calling Seattle women ugly because hyper-femininity isn't widespread here.

It is also true that due to the sausage fest (not entirely inaccurate) women have a lot of options.

My wonder about these kinds of posts is: how high are the OP's standards? If he's expecting very attractive, educated, in shape women - yeah there's a lot of competition for those since they get the pick of the guy litter. If you're just looking for a nice, average lady, you probably wouldn't have a problem.

Haha yes, this recurring theme of Seattle women being gold diggers is extremely entertaining to me. To over-generalize: Seattle is a bunch of nerdy engineers and engineer is not exactly a position of wealth and influence. I think people either have never seen gold diggers or have some very unusual definition of one. I am a man and when I was looking for gf, I was specifically interested in an intelligent and motivated person. Reasons for this are various and this just happens to correlate with above average career and income more often than not; does it make me a gold digger? (I know I know, that’s exactly what a gold digger would say, amiright?)

I somewhat disagree here and would say that it’s not as much competition but the person’s lifestyle and hobbies. Go to local climbing gym, marathon, backcountry skiing trip, etc.. There will be a ton of attractive, in shape women there. Nothing wrong with meeting people in bar, just don’t expect an impossible combination of qualities because there are only 24h in a day and someone who invests heavily into education, sports, etc. simply won’t have time to go drink in bars regularly.

Seattle women are really into their dogs, I would suggest the dog parks as a great place to meet them. In your story, I'll bet that she was looking for another "dog person" as the most important trait for a partner.

Dogs also help thaw the "Seattle Freeze." I see people passing while walking the dogs that start up a chat all the time along Alaskan way and in the Sculpture/Myrtle Edwards parks.

Politics has nothing to do with meeting women in Seattle or anywhere else, it’s all based on looks. Women will “be” extremely liberal when in herds or surrounded by little Timothy the soy boy socialist, but as soon as neo-nazi chad enters the picture the most “hardline feminist” with 7 hair colors and black lives matter decals on her prius will be trading in her BLM sticker for a confederate flag and prius for a Dodge pickup

Dog parks are awesome in just about any town, for socializing. People let down their guard around other dog owners. And yes, you might be right in at least one or two cases, but he also walked his dog along Alki. He did say, that the dog is a bit of a charmer, and women really like the dog. But he also said, that this attention began, when he got some modern style of glasses. He said, that when he switched back to his old glasses frames, the attention vanished. I sure would like to see those catchy frames, lol!
