A group of so-called ‘sovereign citizens’ who say they own most of the land in the Western Hemisphere have been knocking on the doors of wealthy homeowners in the Seattle area and showing fake documents alleging that their properties belong to them.

Moorish Sovereign Citizens has been labeled an extremist group of squatters who do not recognize the authority of the United States government or its laws.

According to detectives in Snohomish County, Washington State, members of the sect knocked on doors of waterfront homes in Woodway and Edmonds and informed the residents there that they were moving in, KIRO-TV reported. ...

Ha!! Somebody will fall for their BS and leave... Only to find out it was BS and have to fight them in the court system to “evict” them from their property.

I wouldn’t say anything to them other than talk to my attorneys and have the County Sheriff serve me any further “legal” documents. Afterward, slam the door in their face.

They’ve do this same BS down in Florida for years... I guess they’ve moved on since everybody was on to them.

This is a long-standing scam - those doing this have themselves been scammed into believing it will work. Just shows how gullible a LOT of people are.

Police videos of them being pulled over for traffic violations are popular on YouTube. They usually produce some "legal document" and attempt to educate the officer on the law. Their favorite line, is they have the right to "travel" and don't need a drivers license. The video often ends with their vehicle being towed, and them on the phone looking for a ride.

Weirdos....this cult. What does worry me is that senior citizens whose faculties are slipping can fall victims to things like this. At very least, the encounter can cause them great grief. Hopefully this is a one off incident and this press will run them off.

I suppose that in Seattle, it would be safe enough. The sovereign citizens are much less likely to get themselves shot in Seattle as they try to con and steal.
