Barring silly posts about Australia trying to twist their extraordinarily hard fought victories against Covid into a warped reason for them to not vaccinate and remain locked away from the world, here’s an actual news article that actually affects YOU.

Adding up the numbers of large events over that weekend totalled about 250,000 people!.

Only a little over 350 people got covid. Only 4 among fully vaccinated people were hospitalized, and no deaths.


Sounds to me like the vaccine is doing what it was designed to do.


It was never said that it offered 100% protection from getting covid, just that you would be less likely to have drastically bad results if you did get covid.

For the life of me, I do not understand why we're ignoring natural immunity, antivirals and promoting a healthy lifestyle. It's almost like leadership is vaccinate or die, rather than reduce spread (with masks) and offer multiple avenues to encourage safe openings.

A simple solution to this is to adopt Germany's policy. If you don't want to vaccinate or cannot, then go through a rapid antigen test OR wear a mask. They have over 15,000 mobile test centers available all over the country and haven't seen nearly as many protests as countries that insist on exerting an unnecessary amount of control over citizens.

We actually have choices, but for some weird reason, our governments aren't interested in them.

Yours is the only meaningful post since I posted, so I’ll respond. We aren’t ignoring those things, but they certainly aren’t measurable ways to prevent the spread of Covid and they don’t protect people who are naturally unhealthy. What are we supposed to do, let someone into a rock concert who claims to ‘have a healthy lifestyle’? Antivirals that may work are given at hospitals, but the data isn’t excellent on their effect.
Governments DO ask for mask wearing, but people only comply if they are ordered to.

And rapid antigen testing can help, but most have spread Covid before they know it, and before any periodic testing (unless it’s daily testing, which is difficult and expensive.

It would be ok to refuse the vaccine if that refusal were based on valid poor health data as opposed to misinformation. Else you’re just fearfully rejecting the simplest, best method out of the crisis.

Refusing vaccination is idiotic, unless you have some kind of health reason. They didn't eradicate polio and smallpox with eating veggies and jogging. JFC. The Covid-19 vaccines available in the US are highly effective and safe.

I'm so tired of this pandemic chapter of our lives. Dumb people in the US keep dying because they can't be bothered to get a harmless, free vaccine shot to protect them. Why take that kind of unnecessary risk with your precious life? I don't get it. But there's no reasoning with or convincing anti-vaxxers. Just like religious people- if you could reason with them, they wouldn't be religious people.

And that's why, in my opinion, all restrictions of any kind should really be lifted at this point. Vaccinated Americans are not getting seriously ill or dying in the US of the virus for the most part, and anyone can get the vaccine. We have too many people on this planet, anyway.
