That's all I really want to say.

I think I've stated a dozen times that I'm not a huge fan of sun, summer, heat. (Tossing out that crazy week of hell in late June) sometime in the last week of July and first two weeks of August we "bottom out" in terms of glorious summer blaze averages. I try to give myself a pep talk and convince myself to go make the most of it, but really all I can do is dream about lush Seattle residential gardens on a mid-winter walk.

Me too! I love the green of June... not the brown crusty of August.

I just got overheated refilling our pig wallow so our pet pig could cool off!

January exists to make you long for summer.

August exists to make you long for.... January?

I guess there are more of us than I thought. Normally my favorite months are June and September. Some rain, and 70s. Besides being ideal temperatures, no need to run heat or AC. This year June was drier, and really hot at the end. Now I too am looking forward to the fall, though the last week has not been too bad, cool enough mornings for nice long walks in the woods.

It's been a really, really bad summer for rain. Usually we at least see the occasional convergence zone set up. That hasn't happened for a good month.

At least no smoke and smog like last few years, somehow Seattle air has been quite clean in spite of all the forest fire going around Washington and BC..

It’s all relative. I’ve lived most of my life in CO, yet when we were on the Olympic Peninsula and the long, dry (and in 2015, HOT) summer dragged on, I wished it would rain. Couldn’t believe that I’d already lost my heat and glare tolerance.

The difficulty with the PNW summer is that it feels like all the sun and dry weather comes in one big stretch. Not much variation day to day, unlike in other parts of the country. And then when the damp gray season comes that, too, feels like too much of the same day after day.

Well, at least you normally don’t get the extremes. Earlier this summer being the bizarre exception.
