Japan is around 10 times as dense as the US. Yet it has less than 1000 murders per year. They are allowed to own guns in Japan and have gun shops, though laws are stricter.

Even the densest parts of countries in Europe where guns are allowed (e.g, Zurich and Geneva) have a tiny fraction of US homicide rates.

My guess is the densest parts of China (eastern coast) and India also have low homicide rates. Although in those two countries, gun ownership is likely very low.

The world's 10 "densest" countries/territories in the below list all have negligible homicide rates. Their yearly combined homicide total is likely less than Chicago's July 2021 total.

Doesn't density affect violence? I know in lab rats it does.

Cheers, username.

It is a fact that violence is related to:

1. culture

2. human intelligence.

The lower the human intelligence, the more violence.

Poverty goes NOT cause violence.

Texas wins the prize for most gun deaths, yeehaw.
Everywhere as in the US? Yes, this is correct. No other "civilized" country has so many shootings per capita.

What a shame. Such a lovely city to have to deal with lack of police and the politically enforced inability to fight crime.

That's just the reality. I doubt that it will change any time soon; the gun fetish in this country is too strong.
Nonsense. First, you can't compare British and American murder rates, because they are counted completely differently.

When the terrorist murdered 8 people in New York by mowing them down with a truck did you blame it on the truck? I doubt it.

Countries like Norway, Finland, and Switzerland all have high rates of gun ownership, but very low murder rates. While Russia has very low gun ownership rates but a high murder rate.

Here are private gun ownership rates and murder rates for a few Central American countries, Mexico, and the United States.

Guns per 100 people 2017. /Murders per 100,000 2018

El Salvador: 12 / 52

Honduras: 14 / 39

Guatemala: 12 / 22.5

Mexico: 12.9 / 29.1

United States: 120.5 / 5

All ownership info is from this site: https://www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/region/united-states

The availability of guns is not the problem.

Why are the police comparing it to last year? Everyone was in lock-down for nine months of the year, crime patterns were drastically different to normal. Compare it to a normal year like 2019

Of course, if I was providing a public service and people thought that maybe I should work better, then maybe I'd half-ass it for a while so until there are public calls for me to get more funding to improve my service. No one would do that, right?

Mexico - like I said, they might have 6 months, perhaps 8 months...a year? For what? This faux virus is gonna make everyone everywhere go splat. Enjoy it while you've got it but shelf any long-term Warren Buffett greed gnobbing.

They're (Mexico) not gonna have time to put it in to play. We're (the rest of planet earth) are also not going to have time. Reference any one of several videos of late, not to exclude Naomi Wolf's.

Put your head between your legs and kiss your a$% goodbye.
