maybe food prices have changed in Boston - I could be wrong there! Prices on food have come down quite a bit even since I've lived here (partly thanks to competition from chains like winco and other discount food stores).

Biggest differences are in the people/culture:

Seattle more laid back.
Seattle more passive/less aggressive.
Seattle more polite, but not more friendly.
Seattle drivers often drive the speed limit.

I have a few others I'll PM you, might they be deemed offensive to others.

I think the strangest thing of all though is the feeling you get when you wake up in the AM here. I've actually never pinned it down in words but I've discussed it with several east coasters, and they usually agree, whatever it is takes about a year until you 'adjust' to it. Just feels different. Definitely nothing to worry about. If you have high blood pressure, it will likely go down.

Interesting comment about high blood pressure. As soon as I moved AWAY mine dropped significantly.

Who knows what factors played a part in that but I attribute it to the dramatic drop in traffic congestion as probably the primary factor in my case.

I'm with you on that scirocco, I moved away from the city out to the burbs (and then again even further to the woods) primarily for the same reasons.

Boston is on a different level though. Without going into a lot of detail, it's somewhere along the lines of new england puritan expectations that are deeply embedded into the roots of most who live and were raised there.

Great place to go to school though and education there is second to none. One of my comments that I *didn't* post on above about differences between Boston and Seattle was about education. You can probably make some assumptions about it without me spelling it out.

Default Question

Hello all,
Thank you again for all your replies.
So I am looking for an apartment in Greenwood.. the exact location is somewhere on the intersection of 98th St. and N Aurora Ave.
Would that be too far away if I am going to work in downtown Seattle ?
I have looked at "Trip Planner" of the metro bus and it says it is going to take around ~25mins to travel.
How accurate is it? Has it taken the traffic congestion into yet?
Thanks for your help!
