Hi all
I will make this as short and sweet as possible, I will be relocating to seattle from baltimore for a postdoctoral fellowship this summer. I am a single female in my late twenties- I am looking for the following (see below), if anyone could name some neighborhoods I should be looking at, it would be greatly appreciated. I will be working at the seattle VA 3days a week and the tacoma VA 2days a week.
Also, outside of craiglists, what other websites do your recommend for apartment hunting?

1- 1 bedroom /or studio
2- $900 max rent
3-safe and quiet neighborhood
4- relatively close to the Seattle VA
5- relatively close to the I-5
6- community in which, grocery stores, shops are in walking distance

Beacon Hill in Seattle should fit you just fine. That is where the Seattle VA is located and when you need to go to Tacoma, just hop on light rail in the Beacon Hill tunnel and get off at ChinaTown and transfer to the commuter rail. Which school are you studying at?

Although I should note that $900 per month won't get you much in Seattle but you should be able to find a studio in Beacon Hill next to rail for that price.

If you can rent a house with other ppl rent is cheap, I've heard some really high prices.

My friends and I have a house in Northgate, 4 bedrooms, $387 rent + plus all other expenses. It takes him about 15-20 mins to drive downtown.

Maybe I just lucked out I don't know.

Default Tacoma VA

The Seattle VA is doable but the Tacoma can be challenging.I would look at Renton or Kent to be between the two sites. Will you have a car?.
Good luck.
