Agreed. I got a funny feeling from stockwiz's post also. I do not understand - just because the OP says that they are Spanish, why would the assumption automatically be that they must speak English? I know more Latinos who speak English, than who do not. If someone is black, why is the automatic assumption that they might wear they pants half down their butt? There's something about stockwiz's post that does not sit very well with me. The comment about Asians was also a little bit vague.

I am a non-white female who is educated. I like to be around other people "like me" - people that are introverted, thoughtful, funny, inquisitive, and serious...it has little to do with them being my similar skin color or not.

I'm used to living in diverse areas, so pardon me if I am a bit too liberal progressive for this sector. I have am considering a few areas for graduate school - a place where I can be safe and live quietly, where my children will get a good education, and where it is live and let live and I don't have to deal with racial "politics". The demographic of non-white people is very low on my list.

A friend of mine is Ethiopian (Black) and he and his family grew up in Souix Falls, South Dakota. He absolutely loves it and says all the time he wishes he could move back, so I'm guessing it's not too bad for minorities.

Let's stay on topic, this is not a debate on racism or being gay, or even a discussion on either, it is simply a question on whether Sioux Falls is welcoming to diversity.

Wow...

Thank you everyone, especially to those of you who tended to stay on topic.

I do not think we will have a problem.

Does this mean you are going to move to Sioux Falls?
