Mexico were the better team but didn't close it out; that's what happens when you let in like a gazillian crosses, one of them bound to go in. They pulled back too much. THere was contact with Robben in the box so i think the penalty was harsh but not crazy, he did oversell it but there's either contact or there isnt

There was contact on Fred too in the game against Croatia, but in both they fell done on their own, not due to contact.
Mexico have nothing to be ashamed about, they've shown the world that they're a great team worthy of the QF as well! And had they faced Greece or CR tonight, I'm sure that wouldn't have been a problem. That's football
Mexico played great, they showed they were legit. I think they just needed better offensive players
Robben was taken down 3 times in the box in that game. I think the penalty call was a cumulative call based on the other 2 instances.
I was thinking that too, but that would be really unfortunate to place your make-up call at the end of the game when the other team has no chance to come back. That would be a terrible referee decision.
I agree Robben was taken down once legitimately (I mean one real penalty) in the box, as well as a Mexican guy kicked in the head in his box. The Robben take-down was the worse of those two, but both could have been called.
Anyway, that's just my opinion...to me it was a majorly disappointing way to end a game.

Yeah. There was contact. I was amazed that a guy with the pedigree and experience of Rafael Márquez (former AS Monaco, Barcelona, in his 4th World Cup as captain) could commit such a childish mistake: a late challenge in the box against a player who didn't even have control of the ball anymore.
Robben sold it the best anybody could. Sad for my team coming short for the 6th f****** time. IN A ROW
I have no problems with the actual player.
I think it's crappy for people to be singling out Robben like he's the bad guy. The problem is that EVERYONE in soccer is doing it.
Until FIFA gets better refs or makes a bigger deterrent to diving and faking injuries, you absolutely can not blame the player himself.
