a shot yesterday at the pond in the Issaqueena Falls site. Considering it's compressed for the site here, it didnt turn out too bad if i say so myself.

seeing Joe's pix reminded me of when we hit there last year. We got it at perfect color, compared to this weekend when the color over on that side of the state was a bit lacking yet.

One pic is of the Whitewater Falls, the other at Sassafrass, again both last fall.

All i can say, is being a transplant from WI where mountains are actually hills, and far off viewing at times can be just more farmland lol, it never stops amazing me how many beautiful locations SC has to see.

Thanks for sharing, ranger. Always good to see shots from the mountains of the Carolinas. We are planning to go back this weekend provided something doesn't come up. Another photog shared some recent images from Whitewater Falls and the colors are better than they were two weeks ago when I was up! Want to hit Isaqueena and Dry Falls, too!

yeah the colors last weekend werent near what we happened to hit last year, but cant always have the "spare bum day" when it's convenient to mother nature and her colorful palette of leaves lol. And coming from WI where what is called a mountain is really more of a speed bump i cant get enough of the sites here in SC.

Though i will say the shots i had at the pond at Issaqueena site look much better when i'm viewing them at home then they seemed to in person. Weird how that happens sometimes.
