I don't think Dallas is up there with Philly or Boston. But they definitely hold its own imo. It's starting to realize how large of a market it actually is. IMO, it is easily the best pro sports city in the South with great fans. Even other cities was commenting on how much May fans were more vocal, louder, and into it than Heat fans. The have a good baseball team. Defending nba champions, remains to be seen on football with a more discipline coach now.

Agree, Rangers look really good to me. Not yet sold on the girls though and especially not Buddy's Son's take...
Eagles could easily go one-and-out in the playoffs (again), esp as long as Vick is the QB. I'm not buying the big-signing hype (Look how that usually works out - no offense Skins fans). Flyers and Phils are for real, though.
New Orleans, Saints are a favorite this year, Hornets should definitely make it to the playoffs, and not to mention LSU football being a top pick for the BCS.
I respectfully disagree, last year was never expected to be a success, the entire Eagle's strategy revolved around contending this year. Regardless of who plays QB - and I'd rather have Vick there than not - this year's Eagles is a roster of players in their prime.

Fans, media market, money. New York, Boston and Philly are such favorites in MLB because the fan base supports the teams to the point where spending more money on the team is even more profitable. Also great cities can afford to attract and keep great talents, lesser cities have to perform a grim financial calculus, so often right after a championship the team is decimated. Keeping the stands full, games sold out, and keeping the season ticket market alive are keys to success, as is a cities willingness to build a fancy new arena, or maintain an old one that has character (hello Fenway) that offers an enhanced home-field advantage.
Test the theory - ask a sports fan in Boston if the city has anything to do with their team's success. Or New York. Or, recently, Philly. Philly will also take responsibility for past failure, just to be clear.

I get what you're saying and agree to a certain point...but in regards to baseball, fans play a stronger roll in team success. Since there is no salary cap in baseball, team expenditures directly correlate to revenues resulting from fan support thru things such as ticket sales and viewership (which results in greater advertisement revenue). Coincidentally, three of the highest-spending teams in baseball--Yankees, Red Sox, and Phillies--are three of the best.
So yea, Frank the plumber screaming his balls off at the Eagles game isn't leading to success for his favorite football team...but spending cash on his baseball team can result in success.
