I would disagree that all of North City is dangerous as well. I am sitting in my house here on the north side and enjoying the peace and quiet. My wife and I spent all day out in the neighborhood visiting with neighbors and walking our dogs. So yeah, I guess you could theoretically be licked to death by my miserable yorkshire terrier but you'd have to be pretty patient for it to come to that.

Let me rephrase. On either the north side or south side east of Grand, the city is not that safe. The areas you mention are.

Stlouisan is not totally incorrect. I think the areas referred to are Dutchtown and Gravois Park which are not the best and are, indeed, east of Grand. It's just an odd way of saying it. However, there are some very nice neighborhoods east of Grand, but there are also some really bad neighborhoods west of Grand on the north side. Basically I'd stick to the traditional "north of Delmar" catchphrase and leave Grand out of the mix entirely.

I walked around Flora Place every morning by myself, never felt unsafe. My car and apartment was never broken into. I LOVED LIVING IN THE CITY. I live now in University City and love U City as much as the city.

There are lots of stories like mine from people on this forum who've lived, and currently live and LOVE the city. Quit being a troll and go back to your compound in the county.
Why are you getting so defensive? I'm sure you wouldn't have opposing opinions living there.

Well, I'm not really a fan of this red state that is Missouri. So maybe I'm just illiberal.

You mean the red state with a democratic Governor whose most recent poll numbers show Romney and Obama in a statistical dead heat?

And that's not a fair comparison as Mitt Romney is not a TRUE republican/conservative.
