I am looking into a position in Bourbon. It is about an hour south west of St. Louis. My wife would be able to work in St.Louis / suburbs if we can find a town in between with good schools and real estate prices.

So far I have noticed st clair & villa ridge as being "on the map"...

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I haven't really been to Bourbon that much- I believe it has about 1800 people there.

Another town you may want to consider besides Pacific would be Washington (some beautiful scenery around there- there's also some wineries there), or even Eureka if you want to be about 10-15 minutes closer to downtown.

I've been to Bourbon, but only once. A friend had a house on a lake there, but I wouldn't even be able to begin to explain where it was it's been a few years.

It would probably serve you well to stay as close to 44 as possible. Not sure what your price range will be, but there's tons and tons of new development out around Labadie and Gray Summit.

Bourbon is a small town with the goods and the bads that come with it. As Aragx6 said, there is a lot of development going on close to I44. Washington is a bit off of 44, but a really cool town that is booming. Pacific is ALMOST getting to the point where it could be considered a suburb of St. Louis. Any of those towns would be a nice place to live.
