Hi,
I am trying to relocate from Orlando, FL to St. Louis. I was in Farmington last October and Nov, but went into culture shock and moved back to Orlando like a moron. I have been searching for jobs online since March and am still stuck in Orlando. I feel I would do better in St. Louis b/c there are more jobs, etc.

I see there are people on here who have managed to land jobs in one state while living in another. Did it take forever? Would I be better off just moving and then looking for a job? I own a house in FL and I really don't want to take a step back and go back to renting, but I'm getting very frustrated waiting for work, so now I'm thinking about lease w/ option to buy, but everything I find online is $1200/mo or more. I also have the safety of my 3 cats to worry about. I'm evidently not going to be able to buy w/o a job eventhough my credit score is probably above 720. I will not be getting my name off of the loan on the house in FL b/c my mom is on it too and she refuses to sell and the bank won't let her buy me out b/c her credit is horrible.

I'm losing money screwing around down here in FL, so I'm seriously considering just going for it. I'm trying to find a job at Wash U, Barnes, MO Baptist, St. Louis U, or the HSMO. I have been scheduled to take a written exam for St. Louis city for a customer service job. If I can't get anyone to grant me any interviews for any of the other places, I don't think it's worth spending $500 or more on a plane ticket just to come up and take a test for a job I may or may not get.

I just feel like I'm spinning my tires and am wondering what other people would do in this situation.

Well, I just emailed someone else and he said I wouldn't be able to buy a house w/o a job. Do you know anything about lease w/option to buy properties? I looked online and didn't see much; the cheapest was $1200/mo. I would like to keep it between $700 and $1000/mo. I would rather be in the county (southwest) than in the city. Maybe University city would be okay if it's not a bad area. I wouldn't want to any farther north than University City. I hear crime is bad in the northern parts.
